Veggies

Many people grew crops to sell or feed their families. Most of these crops were vegetables. Corn, tomatoes, potatoes, celery, onions, wheat, carrots, and pumpkins, if edible, were sold for a profit or put on the dinner table. Unlike most foods, vegetables didn't dignify the amount of money you had. Both rich and poor ate the healthy foods, but wealthier people had a greater abundance of veggies on the table verses the poor who had like one kind, two if they were lucky.

Subsistence Farming

This is when farmers only grow enough food to feed their families. This was very popular in the Renaissannce considering people could only afford so much. Of course commercial farming could make a profit, but your family was always your first priority. Poor people were huge supporters of this.
